Our Mission

Why We Exist

The Medical Minority Initiative exists because representation in medicine saves lives. Minority physicians are more likely to serve underrepresented communities, yet minority representation in medicine remains limited.

We build the pipeline, strengthen the network, and support direct community impact by working at every stage of the medical journey.

Our Impact Goals

  • — Greater likelihood of serving underrepresented communities
  • 18% — Approximate underrepresented minority physician representation
  • 56M — Americans living in medically underserved areas
  • 2030 — Target year for physician pipeline growth

Our Core Programs

1. Medical School Pipeline

MCAT prep, application coaching, essay review, mentorship, and scholarship support for minority pre-med students navigating the path to medical school.

2. Community Healthcare Access

Free clinics, health screenings, and care navigation support for underserved communities, with a focus on meeting people where they are.

3. Professional Advancement

Networking, mentorship, and advocacy for minority medical students, residents, fellows, and physicians advancing through medicine.
